Steve, great playing. I'm finally able to check out all the other WMP vids on the front page. Great stuff especially that solo of you in the studio. Did you study w/Casey Scheurell when you were at PIT? You've got those Alan Dawson/Syncopation combos on lock down. I liked your overall phrases on that solo, especially the pauses. Cool stuff. Derek... i?m planning to buy some new stuff for my home studio. How can you mix an entire band if the 002 have just 8 inputs?
I use 7 channels just for my drums... so, can i use 002 to record my next gig?

Julian, I always recommend Pro Tools unless you have friends using another platform. Pro Tools is very very easy to use in my opinion and manual is the best tech manual I've read. Also, support is excellent and they have a fantastic user's forum at www.digidesign.com.

I have CW Pro Aud 9 for my windowws 98 [img]redface.gif[/img] PC, but all I have is a 16th" jack line-in...so I'm asking around the music stores about an interface/sound-card that will allow the inputs i need, & they say the max for home rec use is only 8! What?!
I rec w an e-kit, so I have to bus all my cymbs to stereo L/R, toms the same, sn, kick, hats...that's 7 channels right there...not very pleasant for when you'd like to rec a live trio or quartet...it can be done if i rec evryone seperately, but not simultaneously...why isn't there an IF/SC w more inputs than 8?! I have an Octopre attached to the 002 via ADAT Lightpipe which gives me another 8 inputs for 16 total. You could also use a Digimax LT which is a bit cheaper and has 1/4 and XLR inputs. I'd recommend that.
You could also just run a stereo submix of the toms in front of the 002. So Toms > Mixer > 2 Track Stereo Mix > 002. Depending on your setup that might save you a few. You could also submix all the drum tracks but that's obviously a lot riskier.
